Otter sculpture Designed, 1926 by Max Esser for Porzellan Manufaktur Meissen. Made 1971. Impressed maker’s mark and model number “1221” to underside. Literature: Caren Marusch-Krohn, Meissener Porzellan 1918-1933. Leipzig, 1993, p. 110 (for an other example). Max Esser received a “Grand Prix” for this design at the 1937 Paris World Fair.
