Awaji Pottery Large Unusual Carved Frothy Vase
About the Item
Large and unusual Awaji pottery vase with decorative panels carved into a frothy surface. The panels incised with views of squashes in a garden. The handles dressed as stems and leaves and the neck decorated with sine waves and a wavy piecrust treatment, circa 1920s. 12" high, 10 1/2" across handles, 10" diameter. Small chip and glaze pool on mouthrim, as shown.
