About the Item

This is a very good quality Chinese snuff bottle, made from porcelain and finely hand painted in cobalt blue, dating to the mid 19th century, Qing, Xianfeng period circa 1850s. This piece is well potted with a baluster / bottle shape and a short neck. The hand decoration is particularly good and shows a scene of two warriors with horses in an open countryside scene by a tree, with mountains in the background, all painted under-glaze in varying shades of cobalt blue. There is NO stopper. The base of the bottle has hand painted characters in cobalt blue.

This is an elegant porcelain Chinese export porcelain Bottle Vase raised on a low foot, all hand painted in a blue and white dragon pattern, which we date to the mid 20th century, circa 1950. The vase is fairly large and very well hand potted in a Classic bottle shape on a low foot having a clear white glaze with a light blue tinge. The base is also glazed to the centre and the foot rim has been carefully hand-cut. The vase is finely hand painted in a large range of cobalt blue tones from a light blue to a deep dark, almost black tones of cobalt blue, all around the body with two five toed dragons dancing among clouds. There are border patterns around the foot rim and the lower body all between blue circles with double blue circles just below the top rim. The base has a carefully hand painted underglaze-blue six-character apocryphal Qing - Qianlong ( 1736 to 1795) seal mark, though we date this vase to the mid 20th century. This is a hand painted 17th century, late Ming dynasty, porcelain Jar or small Vase which we attribute to the Hatcher shipwreck cargo, this piece being from the Wanli /transitional period, circa 1625- 1640. The Jar/ Vase is fairly thickly potted with a very white glaze to the porcelain. It is decorated with a man and a boy stood against a tree with rocks, mountains and flying bats in the background all hand painted in various shades of a clear under-glaze cobalt blue.
