About the Item

A decorative pair of painted glass drinking bottles, probably originally for gin. Oil painted on the exterior, each with a fine portrait of a Dutch Nobleman along with a family banner/crest on the back. The names of each gentleman runs around each portrait along with dates of 1643 and 1625. The portraits are likely taken from early engravings, and likely painted on the bottles towards the end of 18th century/early 19th century. In overall very good condition, some dirt residue to the painted surface, minor knocks and abrasions. Circa 1780/1820 13cm in height 9.5cm in diameter
