One-of-a-kind Sculptural Bottle No.2

About the Item

A raw and evocative sculptural bottle hand built by New York-based artist Ilona Golovina. Made from heavily grogged, unglazed clay, the piece captures the elemental texture of earth itself—marked by cracks, soft ridges, and subtle folds that recall the contours of the body or weathered stone. Golovina presses slabs of clay into the ground before construction, allowing the landscape to leave its imprint. Each vessel is then shaped slowly by hand, with no two forms alike. These works honor the Japanese wabi-sabi tradition and carry the spirit of contemporary artifact—embracing imperfection, balance, and time-worn beauty. Material: Sculpture clay, stoneware Firing method: High-fired in electric kiln Finish: Matte, unglazed Care: Decorative use only; not intended for food or water Handmade in NYC
