About the Item
A fascinating collection of ten antique French apothecary bottles, dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Each piece tells its own story, with a beautifully aged mix of glass, original paper, and etched labels, and a variety of cork, glass, or metal stoppers. The collection includes traditional glass pharmacy jars, some with gilt-labeled fronts, showcasing classic French typography and turn-of-the-century pharmaceutical styling.
Perfect for styling on shelves, in a bathroom, or as a conversation-starting accent for a collector, these bottles capture the spirit of a bygone apothecary tradition with authentic patina and character that cannot be replicated.
Found in France, from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
This set includes varying sizes of ten (10) glass apothecary bottles.
Bottles have aged gracefully over time, resulting in a beautiful time-worn patina.
The labels show signs of wear, as expected due to age and use.
Remnants of powder and liquid are present in some bottles.
The (former) contents of the bottles are as labeled:
- Teinture d’Aloes - Aloe Tincture
- Menthol
- Polypore du Meleze - Larch Polypore
- Carbonate de Gaiacol - Guaicol Carbonate
- Amandes Douces - Sweet Almonds
