Victorian English Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle - Cherub or Angel Decoration

About the Item

This type of scent bottle is always highly sought-after, being more unusual than most, this one is a more charming smaller example, they are usually larger in size. The case is made from sterling silver with an embossed winged Cherub or Putti figure adorning the front panel. The lid opens (nice secure closure) and reveals the glass stopper from the small glass flask that sits within. Once the lid is opened, the case can then be opened revealing the glass bottle. The sterling silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 together with the makers initials HM for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews. The case measures 1 1/4" across x 2" tall.
