Jambo artisanal amphora in colorful salvaged rubber

About the Item

From the newest secondome collection, Can You Imagine?, the Jambo artisanal vase collection in colorful upcycled rubber. Jambo meaning hello in Swahili, is a vibrant vase collection by Serena Confalonieri, inspired by Africa, where artisanal tradition merges with sustainable innovation. The project has emerged from the designer’s collaboration with Ocean Sole, a Kenyan social enterprise that transforms washed ashore flip-flops into reusable materials, creating meaningful employment for local artisans. The salvaged rubber is assembled into multicolored blocks, then carefully sanded to reveal a soft, unexpectedly smooth texture. This regenerated material forms the base for three vases models, each available in a variety of colour combinations and decorative patterns. The shape of the vases remains intentionally simple and unadorned, allowing the lively, textured surfaces to take centre stage. The colour palette is based on the availability of recycled materials, so each piece is one of a kind, due to the random combination of colors and elements used. To complete the design, delicate raffia accents trace the contours of each vase, paying homage to the collection’s African roots. The photo is for reference only. While sold individually, these vases truly shine when curated together, forming a singular composition of exceptional decorative impact. Three models available. Created in Kenya, crafted in Italy. Kindly be advised that should production occur during the months of August and December, extended delivery times may apply.
