A fine gilt bronze and Champlevé Enamel Garniture Set comprising a pair of candelabra and a brûle-parfum and cover. French, circa 1890. The brûle -parfum or censor with a domed champlevé enamel lid above a gilt bronze pierced guilloche border with ram's head mounts supported by a baluster column flanked by seated putti finely cast with musical instruments on a circular base. The candelabra en suite having a pair of of putti figures supporting candlearms with circular champlevé enamel drip trays and sconces. Champlevé enamelling, is similar to cloisonné in that the enamel is applied to discrete cells separated by metal. However, in champlevé, cells or troughs are cast into or cut away from the metal base, leaving a raised metal line between the cells which forms the outline of a design. This exceptional late 19th century three-piece French garniture includes two footed urns and a low footed centerpiece bowl. The urns and bowl are composed of patinated bronze with ormolu mounts which include neoclassical mask detail and rest on square marble plinths with ormolu bases. The pieces have distinctive elongated handles at the sides which terminate in stylized pendant decoration. As seen in the accompanying photographs, the exterior of the urns and bowl feature applied bronze decoration in the form of ornate foliate swags with flowers. Please be sure to zoom in on the photos to better appreciate the detail of the cast decoration, it is impressive. The urns stand 15.75" tall as measured to the top of the rims. A Fine & important French bronze statue 8 day clock garniture in the Orientalist style, circa 1880. The 8 day clock with a time and strike mechanism, sounding the hours and half hours on a pleasant mellow sounding bell. The clock is house in a lavish bronze case heightened with silver gilt, to the top is an engraved 'Minaret' shaped finial and below a gallery of silvered and gilt bronze leaves. The white enamel clock dial having black Arabic numerals, the center of the dial with a bas relief of palm trees and figures below the sun and a fort to the background.
