About the Item

This three pieces garniture,,centered by a large jardinieres for flowers isfinely mounted with gilt-bronze mounts. This type of white ground decorative porcelain vases was very popular in the 18 th century and was produced by the porcelain royal manufacture of sevres the impressive coupe has a pierced gilt-bronze border above a white porcelain body finely painted with flowers.It is centered by a sunset yellow reserve depicting a courting couple in the manner of Watteau famed fete galante.The coupe is framed by foliate gilt-bronze handles and is set on an inverted trumpet shaped stem with pale green spiral twist flutes and a spreading base The accompanying vases have ovoid shape bodies similarly decorated with a yellow reserve on white floral painted ground.The reserve is centered by finely painted scenes inspired by the fete galante and framed by gilt-bronze foliate handles.The vases are surmounted by spiral twist trumpet shape necks and the covers terminate in gilt-bronze finials supported by corresponding spiral twist supports and gilt-bronze re-entrant bases

A fine gilt bronze and Champlevé Enamel Garniture Set comprising a pair of candelabra and a brûle-parfum and cover. French, circa 1890. The brûle -parfum or censor with a domed champlevé enamel lid above a gilt bronze pierced guilloche border with ram's head mounts supported by a baluster column flanked by seated putti finely cast with musical instruments on a circular base. The candelabra en suite having a pair of of putti figures supporting candlearms with circular champlevé enamel drip trays and sconces. Champlevé enamelling, is similar to cloisonné in that the enamel is applied to discrete cells separated by metal. However, in champlevé, cells or troughs are cast into or cut away from the metal base, leaving a raised metal line between the cells which forms the outline of a design.
