Antique Meiji Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Jar with Phoenix Bird and Karakusa Patte

About the Item

An antique Japanese Meiji Era covered enamel over brass jar. The cover of the jar is adorned with a polychrome image of a Phoenix bird surrounded by a swirl motif made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover is adorned with a tubby shaped handle, decorated with polychrome images of Phoenix birds surrounded by a swirl pattern made in the same technique. The ware features polychrome floral, foliage, swirl, and scrollwork ornaments made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century 3 Dimensions: D 6 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good vintage condition. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos.
