About the Item
This ceramic vessel was handcrafted in the Jiangxi region of China in the spirit of ancient temple jars. The style and glaze is reminiscent of Han dynasty burial vessels designed to store wine for passage to the afterlife. The jar is decorated in low relief with auspicious symbols, including dragons, qilin, and Buddhist worshipers in meditation. The lid is topped with a lion fu dog protector to guard the jar's sacred contents.
