Large Karen Karnes Wood Fired Cut Lid Stoneware Pottery Jar
About the Item
A large c1990 cut lid jar by noted American potter Karen Karnes. This pot features a banded glaze of earthy gray, blue, celadon and brown. The lid of this exceptional jar looks fingerprint-like. It’s surely one of her best of the period. Karen is particularly noted for her early work at Black Mountain College and her creative life at Gatehill Cooperative living alongside John Cage, Merce Cunningham, David Tudor and M.C. Richards.
