Marble is a natural material, every piece is unique as each marble block is different in veins and color shades. All of our creations are handmade by Italian artisans and can slightly vary in shape and size. This is to be considered as a guarantee of a handmade object.
All Pieruga objects are made of precious and natural marbles and onyx. Marble is sensitive to acid-based liquids, especially a prolonged contact with substances such as wine, lemon, vinegar, fruit juices, cola and alcohol can stain the surface.
Cleaning should be carried out with a soft sponge, water and neutral detergent. Do not use metallic or abrasive sponges, do not wash in the dishwasher, do not use in the microwave. The color of the marble after washing can undergo variations due to the humidity trapped in the surface’s micro-pores. Once fully dried it will regain its original color. The brass inlays tend to oxidize over time, to make them return to shine again use a soft cotton pad soaked in a solution of water and traditional Marseille soap, gently rub over the brass inserts and rinse the surface thoroughly. We are against the use of chemical products, all Pieruga objects are processed and polished through long manual processes without the use of polishing liquids.
Pieruga proudly creates elegant accessories and complements in marble through artisanal processes, bringing into dialogue ancient techniques of sculpture with advanced technologies. 100% handmade in Italy.
Our mission is a clear signal of opposition to the enormous waste that occurs in the extraction and processing of large blocks of marble, tons of material are discarded and thrown, in disfigurement to the generosity of our mountains.
Rediscovering the ancient art of manual sculpture we give new life to even the smallest fragment of marble, bringing to light its millenary beauty that is lost in more than 2000 years of architecture and sculpture.

- Blooming Terra, a Ceramic Decorative Vase in Brown and Grey by Maarten VrolijkBy Maarten VrolijkLocated in London, GBBlooming Terra is an earthenware ceramic decorative vase in brown, grey and pink by the Dtuch artist Maarten Vrolijk. Vrolijk approaches his ceramic artworks using the surface of his created forms as a canvas, yet with his medium being clay, it instantly adds a depth and relief that is more substantial than its painterly counterpart. Keeping his mark-making intuitive and immediate, the material reacts in its own unique way, dragging and creating small trails of the displaced clay, embellishing his own lines. It is these unexpected structures that create in the artist’s eye, additional unique beauty in each piece. Enhanced by extra layers of colors and glazes, the resulting artworks combine spontaneity, charm, naivety, nature and storytelling. Maarten Vrolijk is an Amsterdam-based artist and designer who considers it important to elaborate on the simple, unequivocal nature of a product or artwork and has been creating his works for over 25 years. His aesthetic and ‘art language...Category
