About the Item

A rare and beautifully crafted stoneware pumpkin by renowned Swedish designer Paul Hoff, produced by Gustavsberg in 1989. This striking piece comes from a limited edition of only 150 and showcases Hoff’s mastery of form, texture, and natural motifs. Deep charcoal-black glaze with elegant vertical ridging and a sculpted lid resembling a fruit stalk Edition: 37/150 Signed: “Paul Hoff, Studiohand, 1989” Impressed: Gustavsberg studio logotype Height: 14 cm (5.5") plus stalk Width: 20 cm (7.9") This piece embodies Scandinavian design sensibility—organic, refined, and timeless. A stunning accent for any interior, and a must-have for collectors of 20th-century Nordic ceramics. After a stint at Kosta Boda as a glass designer, Hoff returned to Gustavsberg in 1981 and resumed his celebrated production of birds and animal-inspired ceramics. By the late 1980s, he introduced a series of highly sought-after fruit-shaped vessels and containers. This pumpkin form is one of the most iconic examples from that collection.
