About the Item

Ceramic vase C. Vieira, S. Miguel, Açores. It has a rounded shape with a narrow base, wide body and small opening. The decoration is simple and typical of the region, with hand-painted horizontal stripes in blue and yellow, alternating with the white of the ceramic. The glaze has a discreet sheen and shows some marks of time and use, such as small spots and flaws in the glaze. It's a traditional piece, made by hand, and shows off the style of Azorean ceramics. It can be used as a vase for flowers or just as a decorative piece. Despite its simplicity, it is striking due to its bright colours and repeated pattern, which gives the object a beautiful rhythm. Ideal for those who like regional objects with a popular touch.
