Portuguese Earthenware Gummed Jug
About the Item
Gummed jug in Portuguese earthenware, with gummed body and wavy rim. Polychrome decoration with medallions with flowers.
The jar has a unique design, with a gummed body that creates a series of rounded segments around the piece. This feature not only adds dynamism to the design but also provides a three-dimensional surface that interacts interestingly with light, creating soft shadows and a visual effect of depth, with a wavy brim top. The edge of the brim is decorated with blue details, reinforcing the contrast with the other vibrant colors used in the floral decoration.
Each section of the body of the jar has an oval frame with a yellow border that highlights the central floral motif. The flowers, in shades of pink, red, green and touches of orange, bring a natural, spring-like tone.
Between the segments, the background is filled with a blue and white.
