About the Item

Pottery jar in the shape of an amphora. Polychrome and gold decoration worked in relief with leaves and other ornaments. It represents a medallion with figures resting under a tree on the riverbank, topped by boys resting on their knees between the mouth and the handles of the vase. At the base is a figure of a naked lady, resting in a garden. At the top, the curved swan-shaped handles give a sculptural and refined effect, highlighting the detailed work and craftsmanship. The piece is decorated with children's figures in relief, typical of allegorical representations of the Baroque, which bring softness and a playful aspect to the composition. The central body is decorated with a pastoral scene, hand-painted in bright tones, depicting human figures in a natural setting, surrounded by trees and water. The use of gold highlights contours and details, providing shine.
