19th Century French Dovetailed Copper Bucket or Jardiniere with Handle

About the Item

19th century French dovetailed copper bucket or jardiniere with handle. Fantastic bucket from the Southwest of France most likely used as a milk churn. It has a snake form wrought iron handle and great patina. The dovetail construction is a testament to its age and quality. Flat copper sheets were hammered by hand into shape then jointed together and braised (like welding but finer work). Use it as a jardiniere or whatever you choose. It is a beautiful piece with lots of character and will make a nice rustic statement.
