About the Item

Decorate a shelf of a console with this elegant set of colorful majolica planters. Sculpted in Vallauris, France, circa 1890, and signed by the artist Pierre Perret, each ceramic jardiniere has a gadrooned form body with scalloped rim. Each vase features large hand-painted chrysanthemums in rich yellow and orange colors. The floral arrangements are painted on a purple lavender background, and the inside are a sky blue hue. The set contains one low, wide planter and two tall, slender vases. The ornate porcelain cache-pot set is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with wonderful Provencal colors. The sculptural quality of this vase is particularly charming and would make a lovely addition to a side table, mantle or bookshelf. Signed on the underfoot of each piece "Pierre Perret Vallauris" for further authentication. Vases: 7" Diameter x 13"H. Cache pot: 13.5"W x 10.5"D x 8"H.
