About the Item

This is one of the most lovely Majolica Art Nouveau cachepot jardinière signed by Delphin Massier, inspired by the nature with roses and three different butterflies. The Massier family produced different pieces with animals in a very creative style in Vallauris on the French Riviera, they excelled in the representation of all of them at the end of 19th century: birds, roosters, parrots, donkeys, frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers and also an incredible whole range of flowers like iris, roses, daisies, wild roses, orchids, pansies. They participated with success at different nationals and internationals exhibitions.
