Royal house antiques is delighted to offer for sale this sublime antique William IV circa 1830 Flamed Mahogany Pedestal stand with small coat rail from Princess Diana Spencer’s London family home Spencer House Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price I have various pieces from the last Spencer house sale, which is still owned by Lady Diana Spencer’s family, the history of the items is that Lord Rothschild in the 1980’s leased the property, at that time the house was restored, the pieces furnished the offices, meeting rooms and the newly restored State rooms. Included with each listing is a picture of the piece in situs Naturally this is a once in a lifetime chance to purchase this piece, it will never come up for sale again, the Spencer family no longer sell their family heirlooms. The sale includes one original picture of the piece in situs at the Spencer house in The main office This pedestal dates to 1830 and its flamed mahogany, it is by design a pedestal stand for displaying antiques like busts and so on, the inside top has a small modern little brass rail so you can hang coats inside This would have been in the house from way before Princess Diana’s birth right up to 2022, the good lady as we know started dating Prince Charles around the age of 16 years old so chances are the princess would have walked passed this piece many times and may even used it to hang a jacket Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be some age and use related patina marks here and there, mostly its in fine order. Dimensions: height:- 169 cm. width:- 54.5 cm. depth:- 53.5 cm. We specialise in finding, restoring very fine luxury antique leather seating. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
