Large Ceramic Bowl, Albert Thiry, Vallauris c. 1980
About the Item
Large ceramic piece animated by a frieze with naive patterns of pisces in scarification.
Albert Thiry and his wife Pyot founded their workshop in Vallauris in 1961.
Their creation is distinguished both by great poetry and a rusticity drawn in particular from the use of terracotta slip.
This piece is emblematic of their production ; the detailed photos reveal the incredible material of the slips which contrast with the shiny glaze of the interior.
It wears the extensive "Thiry" signature on back.
It is in perfect condition.
Additional photos can be sent upon request.
