About the Item
19th century faience ceramic jardiniere on ebonized wooden stand in the Chinese famille jaune style by Eugene-Victor Collinot (1824-1889) of Bois de Boulogne, circa 1870, notable for its animal mask handles and large size (28 1/5 inches wide, 25 in deep and 16 1/2 in tall, and 41 in tall as shown on stand. With lovely violet and blue flowers on a yellow ground plus various insects including butterflies. With the stamped mark of the maker and the handwritten markings E.C. and style number.
The stand is associated at a later date and it is Chinese circa 1940's.
