About the Item

Michael Andersen. Very large and rare 'Old Nordic' tub / jar of cold hand painted terracotta in a light shade of sky blue, with accents of gold enhancements. Richly decorated with encircled pattern in the form of Midgard worms and rune stones: 'Reknar Lutbruk' (Regnar Lodbrog) and his wife 'Tura Burkarhiurd' (Tora Borgarhjort), cast with two Dragon shaped handles, resting on three feet shaped as lion's head.. Stamped: Michael Andersen, "Eneret". Measures: Height 28 cm, diameter 48 cm (with handles). In good used condition, with minor wear of time and wear, one of the handles shows previous restoration, yet in good overall condition. Similar smaller model (design 473, this one is design no. 424) shown in the catalog 'Terracotta- and Majolikawaren - Export-Catalog 1910' under planche no. 5, see last photo.
