Pair of Chinese Polychrome Porcelain Planters on Wood Bases, 19th Century

About the Item

These large urns are an exquisite example of Chinese export porcelain, combining traditional Chinese artistry with Western decorative preferences. The urns have a soft blueish green background and are hand painted with intricate designs featuring floral arrangements, vases and other symbols typical of Chinese export porcelain which are often associated with prosperity and good fortune. Each urn sits atop a wooden pedestal elaborately hand-carved and depicting a monkey hanging off the side of a tree. The combination of the porcelain and intricate wooden stands creates a luxurious display suitable for any high-end interior.
