About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of early 20th century circa 1920’s Neoclassical style Chinese Chinoiserie lacquered torchere columns. These are quite simply the most decorative pillars I have ever seen. Usually these are relatively simple pieces designed as pedestals for flowers and antiques, not this pair, they start and finish decorated, even the tops have been painted to look like marble Condition wise is very fine indeed, there will be some age-related patina marks here and there but mostly they are exquisite examples. CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
