Pair Royal Dux Ceramic Merman & Mermaid Figural Sea Creature Vases Amphora 1910

About the Item

Offering these LARGE, matched PAIR of early 20th Century Royal Dux “Triton” (Merman) and “Mermaid” sea creature vases in rare, hand-painted faience (ceramic). They each depict a dimensional “sea person” (Mermaid & Triton) design with various sea creatures and water maidens in an ocean wave theme. Because these vases are low-fire ceramic and not high-fired porcelain, they do not have the typical “pink triangle” Royal Dux plaque, but they are absolutely produced by Royal Dux Bohemia and well documented. Each vase is marked on the under-side with the mold numbers within a rectangular “plate” design. These were produced circa 1910 and are in very good condition with only minor losses and rubbings. See condition report for details. This is the first COMPLETE PAIR to become available in many years and the first pair of ceramic examples that I have seen ever.
