About the Item
This historically relevant vase stands at almost 4 feet tall, bringing a striking amount of presence to any room where it is displayed. This urn has been expertly crafted in the style of Bernard Palissy, famed 16th century ceramic artist known for his 'rustic' style and use of nature imagery. In the case of this large floor urn, the theme is nautical in nature. The large fish on the side draws the eye first, with many details including shells, coral, barnacles, and other seaworthy concepts bringing the scenery to life.
This vase is an antique, having been dated to sometime in the late 19th century, and has withstood the test of time to a considerable degree. There is one notable repair, pictured. Other cracks and dings are consistent with its antique age and use.
