Antique pair of English Regency period classical bronze urns, circa 1820

About the Item

This very elegant pair of English Regency period classical bronze urns are of small proportions and made to a very stylish and sophisticated design. They stand on plain square bases which are raised up onto four small ball shaped feet. The lower section is cast with a foliate leaf design with a plain bolster stem which rises to the urns shallow body which has cast graduated fluting with a similar matching rim. The covers are decorated with a boldly cast large flower head and finished with a flame finial. To each side of this superb pair of urns, there is a decorative mask head and foliate handle which finish these heavy solidly cast pair of early bronze urns perfectly. The urns are cast in several parts and held together with a central steel screw with a weighted lead insert and a large handmade brass circular nut.
