Pair of French 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Marble and Ormolu Urns

About the Item

A beautiful pair of French 19th century neo-classical st. Vert de Patricia marble, black Belgian marble, and ormolu urns. Each urn is raised by a square base with a central foliate ormolu mount, a fine mottled stepped design, and block support. The ormolu socle shaped pedestal supports display finely detailed wrap around berried laurel bands. The beautiful and uniquely shaped bodies display an exceptional and most decorative combination of Vert de Patricia and black Belgian marbles with richly chased maiden's faces at each side and exquisite scrolled foliate arms leading upwards. At the centers are pierced scrolled Rinceau shaped ormolu mounts with lovely foliate movements while the top lips display fine wrap around Les Oves ormolu bands centering the finished interiors. All original gilt throughout.
