About the Item
Pair Antique Carrara Marble and Bronze D'Or Cassolettes ~ Mantel Urns were designed for impressive opulence, symmetry, and timeless classical style! Crafted from select white Carrara marble and gold-plated bronze, each is a work of art in stone and metal. Starting with the removable lids, pineapple finials sit atop the crown of 8 acanthus plumes draped over the bell-shaped lid's form. The urn below is an egg form, fitted with a complementary pineapple pendant finial set on an acanthus rosette below, but the eye-catching motifs are just above with three artfully scrolled cabriole legs with ram's head motif at the top and cloven hooves at the bottom, supporting the ring of foliates just under the lid and amazing floral garlands draped in between. Set upon a golden base which in turn is set upon a white marble foundation, each is truly a work of the sculptor's art!
