Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Porcelain and Ormolu Lidded Urns
About the Item
A stunning and most unique pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. glazed porcelain and ormolu lidded urns. Each urn is raised by an elegant ormolu base with lovely decorative foliate wrap around bands. Three fine lightly curved acanthus leaf supports with hoof feet in a rich satin and burnished finish encase the beautifully colored and elegantly shaped porcelain bodies. The bodies display wonderful colors and richly chased rams heads at each side connected by detailed swaging fabrics and fine beaded bands. The necks taper to interlocking ormolu bands below the removable lids with striking richly chased floral finials. Also finished on the inside. All original gilt throughout.
