Pair of Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Paris Pink Porcelain Covered Urns

About the Item

This pair are charmingly painted in oval reserves with mother and child within a gilt jeweled border, and verso with wild flowers. Each domed cover is painted correspondingly with a band of wild flowers and set with a bronze pineapple finial, emblematic of hospitality. The shaped square base swag handles, pierced rim and gilt interior are hand chased. There is a painted mark in puce that looks like a decorator's mark inside one cover. They are offered with their original stands.
