About the Item
A Pair of Large and Palatial Antique Italian Neoclassical hand carved Alabaster urns of superb craftsmanship and great detail. The main body of each large hand carved alabaster urn is bulbous with a hand carved classical figural mask in relief surrounded by very intricate grape clusters around the faces. The neck of each urn narrows upwards before flaring out into a wide circular lip and below the main body, the urns taper into a fluted section that resembles the form of an inverted acanthus leaf, a very popular motif in classical architecture. Finally each urn is mounted on a large elegant hand carved alabaster square pedestal bases.
