About the Item

Royal Worcester Hand-Painted Loving Cup – Worcester Cathedral, Signed Monogram, c.1902 A fine Edwardian two-handled loving cup by Royal Worcester, hand-painted with a detailed view of Worcester Cathedral from the River Severn. The reverse is decorated with a garland of enamelled wildflowers surrounding a gilt presentation monogram, likely “AC”. The cathedral scene is signed lower left Worcester and bears a distinctive painted artist’s monogram to the lower right — appearing as “CF” — known from a small number of Worcester pieces featuring the same subject and style. The painter remains unidentified, though the mark appears consistently across works of this type. The base carries the puce Royal Worcester backstamp, dating the piece to circa 1902, and the impressed shape number 52. Dimensions: Height: 15.5 cm Width: 22 cm (handle to handle) Depth: 14 cm Condition: Light age-related glaze crazing. Rubbing to gilded bands and handles consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or restoration. A decorative and regionally significant Worcester piece, combining studio quality with architectural and civic interest.
