About the Item

Very rare large urn, figuring silver inlay with a stylised personage and a fish on one side and another personage and a fish on the other side. Signed GUSTAVSBERG KAGE with the Gustavsberg studio anchor 976. Another Characteristic is that this urn has been made by Wilhelm Kage himself, very few of them has the KAGE a hand signature of the master. GOOD CONDITION. more photos on demand Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) is one of the most well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He was the artistic leader for Gustavsberg in the 1930s and 1940s and is often called the father of Swedish modernism. Kage is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
