1960 French Provincial Hand-Turned Blue Ceramic Vase

About the Item

This Hand-crafted studio ceramic has been sourced in the south of France near the village Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. This area of France is famous for its artisanal ceramic work. Small ceramic workshops produce one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces each workshop having its own style and techniques that they perfected over the Years. This beautifully blue, black, and beige glazed vase is the result of an artist's love for their craft. The color combination reflects the powdery blue and beige colors that are so reminiscent of the south of France. If you have traveled through Provence you will remember the powdery blue shudders and beige stone houses. This small flower vase would have set perfectly in one of these windows. This hand-turned french ceramic dates from around 1960. The surface has a delicate shiny glaze and the colors a powdery and soft.
