An abstract "Graal" glass vase, by Gunnar Cyrén for Orrefors, Sweden, 1977

About the Item

A good abstract Graal glass vase or footed bowl, designed by Gunnar Cyrén, made in 1977 at the Orrefors Glaswork in Sweden. The graal technique was developed at Orrefors early in the 20th century. The design is carved, engraved, or etched on a layer of colored glass, which is then reheated and cased in a thick layer of transparent glass before being blown and tooled to the final shape. The vessel is signed, dated and numbered by engraving under the base: "ORREFORS Graal B. 1098.77.Gunnar Cyren"
