Antique Bohemian Schwarzlot Glass Beaker, Josef Lenhardt, c.1900 Hunting Scene

About the Item

Elegant antique Bohemian glass beaker, finely executed in clear glass and decorated in the Schwarzlot (black enamel) technique. This exceptional piece features a hand-painted romantic hunting scene with figures in period attire, including a mounted horseman and a hunter accompanied by his loyal dog. The surrounding landscape is enriched with detailed trees and foliage, all meticulously executed in delicate shades of black and grey. The beaker was made by Josef Lenhardt, a renowned glass decorator from Steinschönau (now Kamenický Šenov), Bohemia, around 1900. Lenhardt was famous for his highly detailed enamel work in the Schwarzlot technique, often drawing from classical and historical themes. The base shows light age-related wear, consistent with careful use and display. This collectible beaker is a wonderful example of early 20th-century Bohemian artistry and would make an outstanding addition to any collection of antique glassware.
