About the Item
Antonio da Ros for Cenedese large, heavy and elegant vintage Mid-Century modern Italian Murano large, rectangular and wide glass vase, circa 1965-1975. This rare, large and heavy piece of glass features a simplistic, elegant form and design in thick clear glass with a black patch to create a stunning centrepiece which captures the light beautifully and is a wonderful Mid-Century vase. Interestingly, there is no such thing as truly black glass, rather it is a very dark Amethyst (purple) or a very dark smokey moss green colour and it is difficult to produce a black looking glass - however, here, Cenedese has managed to do this rather well - the colour here is more of a dark smokey gray/green and is very close to actual black. Rare piece of glass in collector’s condition as this is actually new old stock which was recovered from the vaults at Cenedese on the Venetian island of Murano.
The last photo shows more vessel from this range which are also 'new old stock' - a truly rare find! Contact us if interested in a larger quantity of these as we have more stored away. Would be a great purchase for a design hotel or restaurant for example. We have square, rectangular, circular, round and rhombus or diamond shaped vases, bowls, ashtrays and vessels as well as a few lamp bases as well.
