About the Item
This glass vase was created in 1920 ca. by the French artist glass maker André Delatte (Chatenois/Vosges 1887 - Toulouse/Haute Garonne 1953). In 1921 he founded the glass works 'Les Verreries de l'Est SA' in Jarville near Nancy. The narrow neck vase, also known by the term 'Berluze' shape, created and made popular by Daum Frères Nancy was also produced since the beginning of the 1920's by the André Delatte Glasworks, also situated in Nancy. The simplified form and the concentration on simple, harmonious colour schemes were an important influence on modern glass making. The colourless glass vase is overlaid with polychrome glass powder application.
