About the Item

A petite and charming Art Nouveau glass vase from Verrerie de Laignelet features a cold-painted panoramic scene of the Brittany region, painting in delicate pink. The vase is decorated with characteristic Breton houses, offering a nostalgic glimpse into early 20th-century rural France. Made between 1909 and 1920, the piece is signed “Laignelet” and was produced by the Société Anonyme des Verreries de Laignelet, founded in 1908 by H. Chupin. The glassworks closed its doors in 1934, making signed pieces rare and sought after. The cold painting technique — applied to polychrome glass — adds texture and dimension, highlighting the charm and craftsmanship typical of the Art Nouveau period. A poetic and collectible piece of French glass history, ideal for connoisseurs of Art Nouveau and regional decorative arts.
