20th Century Bohemian Crystal Vase
This is a 20th-century Bohemian crystal vase, featuring a robust cylindrical body silhouette with a wide, flared neck, set on a lobed base. The vase uses the cased glass technique, with an outer layer of clear crystal covering a layer of deep emerald green crystal. The design is complex, combining multiple cutting styles: the neck and lower section of the body have fluted vertical cuts, while the shoulder features a distinctive raised diamond cut. The main decoration on the body consists of acid-etched floral motifs (flowers, leaves, and stems), which expose the clear crystal layer below. The upper rim is serrated and wavy. This type of glassware is representative of the Bohemian (Czech) tradition of luxury glass production, where cutting and coloring techniques have reached a high level of mastery.
