An Attractive Bronze Vase by Yamamoto Houzan.
This attractive bronze vase is a stunning example of Japanese art. It is signed by the artist Yamamoto Houzan and measures 13 cm (5 inches) x 21 cm (8.5 inches). It weighs 1 kg (2.2 lb) with its original signed box, which weighs 1.6 kg (3.5 lb).
The vase is in good condition, with no major flaws. The bronze is a rich brown color and is beautifully polished. The vase is decorated with a simple but elegant design of swirling lines.
Yamamoto Houzan was a Japanese metal artist who was active in the early 20th century. Born in 1878 in Tokyo, he studied metalwork under the renowned artist Takamura Kōun. Houzan went on to become one of the most celebrated metal artists in Japan, and his work is exhibited in museums around the world.
