A Stunning Murashi-Do Bronze Vase by Renowned Artist Yoshino Takeji. This stunning Murashi-Do bronze vase is a masterpiece by one of the leading metal artists of 20th century Japan, Yoshino Takeji. Takeji was born in Takaoka in 1920 and soon learned metal casting craft from his father. Yoshino family started their business in the early 1800, and Takeji became the 4th generation metal artist. He graduated from Toyama Industrial Art School in 1938. Some of his works are held in the Imperial Palace collection at the Akasaka Palace. He received several awards and recognitions from art exhibitions and the Japanese Imperial Government. The vase measures 24 cm (9.5 inches) high and 28.5 cm (11.2 inches) wide. It weighs 5.3 kg (11.6 lb). This vase is a perfect example of Takeji's mastery of bronze casting. The vase is beautifully shaped, with a graceful curve that tapers to a narrow neck. The surface of the vase is covered in a delicate patina that gives it a warm, golden glow. The vase is also decorated with a beautiful pattern of swirling clouds.
