This rare Swedish folk art stoneware pitcher or vase, crafted by Andersson & Johansson for Höganäs in Sweden, features a striking brown body with cream-white decoration. Designed by John Andersson in the 1920s, it showcases a strong modernist shape, giving it a dynamic and sculptural appearance. The vase is stamped "AJ Höganäs" underneath, a mark used between 1920-1958. John Andersson, who became artistic director in 1924, is renowned for his distinct personal style and is represented in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and Helsingborg's museum.

    Wear consistent with age and use. There’s a small chip in the glaze on the vase's mouth, see last picture. This imperfection doesn’t detract from the vase's overall charm and character. The white vertical stripe and blur on the vase are reflections from the camera flash, not flaws.
