About the Item
A stunning ceramic vase designed by Bonnie Rehnqvist at Törngrens Krukmakeri in Falkenberg, Sweden. The vase is 25.5 cm (10.2") tall and about 24 cm (9.6") in diameter. The vase is in excellent condition and is probably a unique vase. It is signed as photo with Bonnies signature.
Bonnie Rehnqvist (1917–2007) was a Swedish ceramicist and painter, educated at the Higher School of Art and Design in Stockholm. After graduating in 1943, she returned to Falkenberg and began working at Törngrens Pottery, where she remained for forty years. Rehnqvist’s ceramics are characterized by artistic originality and a distinctive style that set her apart from the traditional craftsmanship of the workshop. She created vases, bowls, plates, and lamps with motifs inspired by exotic cultures, often with a melancholic expression typical of the 1950s. Her work has been compared to that of Marian Zavadzki and Jane Wåhlstedt, and her ceramics are now sought after at auctions.
