Charles Cart Mid-Century Red and Brown "Cyclope" Pottery Pitcher Vase

About the Item

This large dazzling mid-century glazed ceramic pitcher vase was designed and crafted by Charles Cart. This well-known listed ceramic artist called it Cyclope because of the large volcanic dimples created during the firing of the pottery which reveal the layers of red and brown below the surface. Measures: Depth 6.50 in. x Width 6 in. x Height 15.25 in. About the Artist and his work: Charles Cart's pottery reveals layers of white and various colors below the surface of each creation. Charles Cart registered the brand name La Poterie d'Annecy in 1961. Most pieces are unsigned but other similar pieces sometime have a paper label which states "Emaux Des Glacier fait main (hand crafted) "Cyclope".
