Jasba West German Mid-Century Marble Glazed Art Pottery Vase
About the Item
A stylish German mid-century art pottery vase decorated with flames and marble designs and made by Jakob Schwarderlapp and dating from the 1960's. This formal vase was made in Baumbach and stands on a narrow rounded unglazed foot with a narrow lower body and with a wide conical shaped body and with a narrowing tall funnel shaped neck. The body of the vase is decorated with stylized flame designs on a high glazed brown ground set between two gilded lines with the lower and upper sections decorated in matt grey marbled patterning. The upper rim has a gilded finish. The vase has a raised WEST GERMANY mark and is numbered 153/23.
In good condition with rubbing to the gilded applications.
